Happy Thursday Lovely People

So today I just wanted to give you some information about the colour pop lippies I've accumulated over the last month. I've been getting a lot of questions about them so I thought I'd share with you some information. I'm going to break it down in a couple of segments to make it easy.

*if you would like to see lip swatches please shoot me an email or leave a comment and I'll make a video for you*

Cost:
The ultra matte lippies are $6 a piece but they have a section on their website entitle #ItsASteal where you can get a set of them for cheaper or 2 for $10 instead of $12.

Color pay off:
The color pay off is amazing. They are very pigmented and very true to color.

True to website color:
They are amazingly pigmented and true to color but for me the swatches on the arms where a little misleading.
Can you eat with it:
You can definitely eat with this on, as long as its not greasy or oily. Which in my life is pretty much everything. Good eating habits are coming soon I swear.

Would you recommend:
I have and I would again. You can't beat the price and the quality that you get. There are very little compromises that have to be made even at this price.

Longevity:
They last a really long time. Like literally all day with minimal reapplying. I only have to reapply to the center or edges of my lips but if you left this lipstick at home you would totally be fine. Its kiss proof as long as you don't have an excessive amount of like chapstick or something underneath or over it.

Consistency:
It starts out as a really thin feeling liquid. Not sticky at all though so its pretty phenomenal.

Feel:
They kind of feel chalky to the touch but also like my lips if that makes sense. Like you can feel that it's there but its also not cakey enough to not feel like your lips.

Drying? Moisturizing? :
It is a matte lipstick so to a sense it or course it dry but it doesn't dry out your lips. I wouldn't say that it is moisturizing but it definitely seals everything you started with up.

Reapplying:
Reapplying is really a breeze. As long as you exfoliate your lips (you HAVE to exfoliate and plump or something) your lips will look just as amazing. I have only had it feel cakey when my lips were chapped looking, but that's no ones fault but my own.

Black Girl Friendly Colors?:
Hmm, this was a tough one to say because I do not have all the colors but if you are a women of color or a women period, you know that nude lipstick is not made equally. I will say that for all colors you can change anything around with the right lip liner. The lip liner that I have been using for the nude colors has been Chestnut by MAC or Brown by NYX they work really well for me.

For the brighter colors on the other hand, I think they ware very black girl friendly. My favorite colors that require no lip liner and no worries are: Jellies (blue), LAX (dark red burgundy), and Guess (dark purple). I feel like I have special powers with these lipsticks on seriously they are so amazing and I get so many compliments. Obviously blue isn't for everyone so they say, but I say to hell with it Ive only got two lips and one life, I'll wear whatever the heck I want. Don't be afraid to do you and be yourself.

Tips & Tricks:
  • When applying don't smile and wait until it drys.
    • I have found that by doing this it sets less into the creases of your lips. So as they say rest b*tch face keeps you young, it also keeps your lipstick popping so... Somethings to consider (lol).
  • Lip liner will be your bestest friend.
    • Since it is a liquid matte I find it really hard to get a really precise line around my lips. It might just be because I am a crazy person but seriously Its my saving grace especially for the nude colors.
  • The PLUMPER the better.
    • I am a huge advocate for a little plump when its for matte lipstick. I just think that having a little plump to your lips helps the over all effect you want.
    • I already have pretty full lips (yes God for your many blessings) so it might seem unconventional to plump my lips but I like to do it for special occasions or pictures. Not the kind you use is up to you. I am currently using the one by Glam Glow. Maybe I'll do a review. You know me we'll see lol.
