Verse Insight
This is my first post if this sight but I really wanted to give you all some insight that i got today during my quiet time with the Lord.
“This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other.”
John 15:12-17 NLT
I believe this passage was present because it shows us people why other people (including ourself was) are so important because Jesus was a person first. I sometimes forget that Jesus was actually human and feel like this verse and our reduced relationship to friend is why God made him human. It was and would be more practical for us humans to understand a perfect friendship than to first just see a Savior. We in our nature believe what we can understand. So he took something that we could understand, being imperfect human-beings: birth, sacrifice, teach, humility, humbleness, perseverance, and death. Then added/attached these extraordinary God like actions and activities to it so that we can see Jesus and feel like his Mercy (now that he has surpassed his human form) is obtainable. It’s a reason he wasn’t in this day and age because we are not to idol and if there were images of him we might have been subjective to worship the homage rather than the character traits and qualities like we are supposed to.
I love that the Bible Is an ancient text and just in small time frames he is able to completely just turn your life around by dissecting and divulging a little bit at a time of his word in a practical human sized piece.
God and his Trinity are so awesome. Thank him for this interpretation and I thank him for allowing me to be the vessel of this message for you!
Be sure to stay roomed for my new podcast coming out this week for more topics like this or not like this.. I love the element of surprise that this will bring and push me towards.
I love you brother or sister in Christ!
